Midwest Power Yoga
Midwest Power Yoga was founded in November of 2003 in Appleton, WI by Debbie Williamson of Wild Abundant Life and quickly expanded to six locations around the state. The original tagline, “Midwest Power Yoga – it’s about your life!”, helped Debbie and her team of talented, hand-picked and trained teachers touch thousands of lives in the surrounding communities.
In 2012, Debbie fulfilled a life-long dream and opened her 100% donation-based Midwest Power Yoga location in Sheboygan Falls, WI, welcoming yogis of all ages and backgrounds to come together to move, sweat and breathe. In 2014, when her travel schedule intensified yet again, Debbie sold the last of her 6 Midwest Power Yoga studios, and the Midwest Power Yoga brand, to yoga teachers Maggie Olson and Stuart Gavin. The official transfer took place on January 1 of 2015.
Stuart Gavin and Maggie Olson were both trained as teachers under Wild Abundant Life & Midwest Power Yoga. Outside of yoga, the two are amazing business people in their own right. Maggie owns a thriving nationally known PHOTOGRAPHY BUSINESS and Stuart is a highly sought after non-profit fundraiser & grant-writer who is also pursuing his Medical Degree. When asked about how the sale came about, new co-owner, Stuart Gavin jokes, “Well, I accidentally kicked a hole in one of the walls at the studio during a class that Maggie was teaching. Debbie said, “you break it, you buy it!” So…we bought it!” In late 2017 Maggie took sole ownership of Midwest Power Yoga.
Today, Midwest Power Yoga offers daily classes - join us by dropping in or purchase a class pass and join us often!
The mission remains the same –
to help people come together as a community to move, sweat, breathe, laugh and learn in fun and safe environment.
Maggie is a registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance and is currently an E-RTY200 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) and leads the studio’s yearly Yoga Teacher Training.
